  10. All that money for those fancy high tech swimming suits can’t buy smarts.

Oh and the announcers are d%$ks. I bet that kid could beat them in any sport.

  11. LOL, you got to admit that is pretty funny.

  12. Mike, your right about the fancy suit comment but that guys swimming abilities are pathetic and he shouldn’t be in the olympics. When swimming you gotta kick your legs and pretty much the whole way back you can’t even see his legs coming out of the water. Thats why the announcers are laughing at him, same with all the people it shows in that room after.

  13. Seriously, wats odd about this i dont get it?

even if only one participant is there, he has to complete his feat, no doubt the results are clear, wats important is if can beat any meet or world records..

  14. His breathing on the last 50 was pathetic. His head was out of the water the whole damn time.

    — Cameron · Aug 3, 12:22 PM · #

  15. That’s a hell of a way to win a medal!

    — Terry · Aug 3, 12:43 PM · #

  16. Whatever happened to the thought that the important thing in the Olympic Games shouldn’t be winning, but rather taking part? I don’t know who where the most popular athletes at the Calgary Winter Olympics in ’88: Eddie “the Eagle” Edwards, the inept British ski jumper who became last, or the Jamaican bobsled team who crashed in a pretty spectacular way. This guy deserves our respect. And: yes, it’s plain funny.

  17. Actually Eric has improved his swimming performance immensly over the last years. He is now able to swim under one minute for the 100m, so kudos to his perseverance.

  18. A couple of things 1.) He is the best from his country and as a swimmer who can beat his time by well over a minute I give him props for going out there and doing his best for his nation I mean hell USA is not the best Curlers or Badminton players but we still have a team. I mean hell if any of you guys had the chance to go to the Olympic games even to get your ass beat you’d go (remember he gets to go for free!) and 2 Cullen Jones….Blacks can swim.

  19. I’m a racist, I’m a racist!

Not really but can I still have a spanking?

    — Fred Garvin · Aug 8, 09:10 PM · #

  20. Maybe he was just mocking them?

    — Peter Peterson · Aug 10, 07:11 AM · #

  21. wtf i agree, hes the best from his country, he broke his country’s national record and all of you who say hes black so he cant swim, its amazing you figured out how to type on the new internets computer thing.

    — dan · Aug 12, 11:00 AM · #

  22. I don’t care what country you’re from… if you don’t know how to swim you shouldn’t be in the olympics. The guy’s form is so horrendous and his breathing is something to expect from a first year. I am in no way proud of him for his “record”.

    — Watson · Aug 12, 11:43 PM · #

  23. Isn’t the Olympics about representing your country? Maybe he comes from a country where they dont have swimming pools in every 2nd suburb [if they have suburbs] or millions of dollars to pump into sports development. People forget that sport is about doing, not sitting on your fat white ass and watching.

    — Matt · Aug 13, 06:52 AM · #

  24. Dear Hi,
That was rude! I find that offensive and by the way I am not black.

    And Fred,
Yes, you can have a spanking!

    — Dee Dee · Aug 13, 08:04 AM · #

  25. he did look like he was trying his best, but have you considered that he might have been making fun of the other two by going so slow?
